Rory comes for a visit~

We had such a wonderful week when Rachel and Rory came to visit! Gene was able to join them for the last few days of their trip. It was great to spend time with them all. Rory is really growing, and OMG....he is soo adorable!! He's 2 and 1/2 months already, and is over 25 inches long! Thanksgiving can't come soon enough when we will see them again.

A New Toy!!

I'm a big fan of monograms, especially for gifts for babies! I mentioned to my husband that I was thinking of investing in a relatively inexpensive model...'inexpensive' in how costly some of those machines are!....and he said, "Would you like that for your birthday?" Heck yea!! So I ordered this Janome Memory Craft 200E.

One project down!

We have finally completed the work on the island...and it only took a year! :>) My husband's a saint, I tell ya'! The reason it took so long is because I didn't like the original paint job...you could see every single brush stroke. So I sanded some.....hubby sanded a lot...and he repainted it...this time with a roller. The finish still isn't what I had envisioned, but since hubby wasn't keen on the idea of painting the island to begin with, plus I have other projects I need his help with, I'm going to say it's just about perfect! *grin*

Buddies!

Peyton, my little grandson, loves being the 'big guy' in the house! He's so sweet with babies, Cord and Cooper, I care for during the day.

Photobucket special 'effects'

I love black and white photos done with a touch of color. Photobucket's 'effects' lets you do that effortlessly! I did these photos of Maddox with just a few clicks. (The first color photo was taken with a flash....the second without.) To be able to do this, go to 'edit images', 'effects', then choose 'grayscale'. Click on 'advanced options', then apply to 'painted region'. Select brush size that works best, and simply click on area you want colored. Click on 'invert' and voila...there you have it!!
